LIDO Festival has been forced to cancel two of its three 2026 dates due to ground conditions at London’s Victoria Park.

In a statement shared via LIDO’s website today (April 9), organisers confirmed that its June 12 event featuring CMAT, Father John Misty and Sharon Van Etten, as well as its June 14 event with Bombay Bicycle Club and Metronomy, have been cancelled.

Maribou State’s headline event, which was originally scheduled to go ahead on June 13, will now take place on August 31.

This year marks LIDO Festival’s sophomore edition, with the AEG-owned event having hosted specially curated day festivals from Charli xcx, Jamie xx, London Grammar and Massive Attack last year.

Following a hot summer and increased foot traffic through Victoria Park, attendees at AEG’s other London day festival series, All Points East, reported “insane” amounts of dust across its six days last August.

“Protecting the condition of Victoria Park is of paramount importance to LIDO and to London Borough of Tower Hamlets (LBTH),” LIDO’s statement reads, acknowledging the impact that “last summer’s drought” had on Victoria Park.

“Extensive reseeding and improvement programme delivered by AEG has been highly successful,” the statement continues, “and the park is now in great condition for everyday community use, unhindered and fully open to local residents and visitors.”

“Following one of the wettest winters in recent history, our advisors recommended giving these newly improved areas a little more time before starting the festival programme. This ensures the progress made is protected and continues to benefit the community throughout the spring and early summer.”

All ticketholders for LIDO Festival’s three June dates have been offered a full refund via its website.
