He helped South Carolina win eight games that season. In 2023, he tallied 71 total tackles, two interceptions and eight passes defended. Although he played well, South Carolina won just five games that season. For the 2024 season, he racked up 88 total tackles, four interceptions and two passes defended. He led the Gamecocks to nine wins in his final season.

Following the season, Emmanwori declared for the 2025 NFL Draft. He currently is projected to be a first or second-round pick.

Nick Emmanwori Strengths

Emmanwori has great size for an NFL safety. He measured in at 6-foot-3 and 220 pounds at the NFL combine. This size allows him to play in the box, guard tight ends and defend the run. With his size comes great play strength for the position as well. He measured in with over 32 and 1/2 inch arms, which helps him match up with bigger targets and gives him a larger tackle radius.

His athleticism, especially given his size, is elite for the position. Emmanwori tested well at the combine and that athleticism shows up on tape. He has good quickness and long speed. Emmanwori uses his speed in pursuit and also to show off his range when in zone coverage. His size and speed combination is unique for the position.

He showed off good ball skills in college as well, which led to good ball production. Especially in zone coverage, Emmanwori sees the ball well and tracks it in the air. He uses his size and athleticism to high point the football and attack the catchpoint. Emmawori is able to come down with the football and is a threat to return it. He can defend passes when he isn’t able to catch it.

Nick Emmanwori Weaknesses

Emmanwori is more of a linear athlete and can have trouble mirroring in man coverage. If he gets matched up with a receiver or a shifty running back, he can struggle to keep up with them as they run their routes. Emmanwori is better used in zone coverage or when covering tight ends in man to man coverage.

He can be more aggressive in stopping the run. Emmanwori can be late to diagnose and then late to come downhill and start his pursuit. When he is in pursuit, he can take better angles to the football. He has the size and athleticism to become a good run defender, but he needs to clean up in these areas to reach his potential.

His route recognition can improve for the next level. He doesn’t have the best awareness of what routes receivers are running and can be late to contest because of that. Emmanwori needs to show better anticipation in order to help him make even more plays on the ball and have better coverage.
